New Uses for Disused or Derelict Farm Buildings

The Cork County Development Plan last updated in 2022 introduced a provision promoting the redevelopment of disused or derelict traditional farm building for new uses. In the current housing shortage difficulties, this is a good way to expand the housing stock of the county. It gives people the opportunity to create a new housing unit. Planning permission is still required along with high quality design appropriate to the setting.
