Douglas Street Public Realm Enhancement Scheme

As proud members of the Douglas Street Business Association and we’re thrilled to see progress on the redevelopment of Douglas Street in Cork.  This is a project that aims to make the street more pedestrian friendly and improve the overall quality of the urban environment. The scheme will involve a reduction in car use, which will decrease noise and pollution, and create more space for people to walk, cycle and socialize. It will also incorporate wider footpaths, new street furniture, lighting and landscaping, and more opportunities for public art and cultural events. As an historically important route to and from the city centre, the public realm enhancement will transform the street into a vibrant and attractive place for residents, visitors and businesses.
